5 CURLY HAIR TIPS TO KEEP YOUR CURLS HAPPY AND HEALTHY!




1. Protect your hair at night.


It is important to protect your hair while you are sleeping. You can do so by wrapping it up pineapple style in a scarf, or by wearing a bonnet.


2. Brush from the bottom up.


Gently detangle your hair from the bottom up with a wide tooth comb or a specially designed detangling brush. This is to prevent you from tugging knots through your hair and rather slowly releasing them.


3. Do not be afraid of product!


There are a few products you should be using in your hair. A leave in conditioner to lock in moisture and leave your curls feeling refreshed. A curling or styling gel to lock in the curls. Hair serums to help hair growth and repair, while also preventing frizz. There are a ton of products out there, do your research and use what combination works best for you. At the same time be sure to not oversaturate your hair with product!


4. Avoid washing your hair every day.


This may be hard for some people, but you should really avoid washing your hair every day. This strips your hair of its natural oils that help keep it strong and healthy. If you constantly put shampoo on your hair, it can be prone to damage and breakage. Instead, try co-washing your hair. This method eliminates shampoo from the equation. Instead wash with conditioner, or a specially curated cleansing conditioner.


5. Stay away from sulfates!


Be aware of the ingredients that are in the products you are using. Look out for products that say 100% sulfate free. Sulfate strips your curls, leaving them dry, brittle and frizzy.
