5. Scary Movie Marathon
Now this one is a no-brainer. There is no wrong time to throw on a good movie, but with it being Halloween there is even more of a reason to have a scary movie marathon! You could throw on a classic gem such as Scream, or A Nightmare on Elm Street. Or you could keep it modern with the Insidious trilogies, or Midsommar. The scary movie choices are endless, so grab your favorite snuggly blanket, some popcorn, hot chocolate and it's SHOWTIME!
4. Carve pumpkins
Carving pumpkins was one of my favorite Halloween activities as a kid, but who's to say that it's only for kids?! Run to your local supermarket and pick out your finest pumpkin, a carving kit and you are ready to go! The best part about carving pumpkins is that you have the freedom to be creative. Create a silly face, a scene from your favorite movie, a logo, or maybe your dog's name. You then get to broadcast your amazing creation to the neighborhood by placing it outside your house!
3. Spooky picnic
October has some of the best weather, not too cold not too hot, which is the perfect reason to have a spooky picnic. You and your friends can dress up as your favorite characters. There are a bunch of Halloween treats you can make such as mummy weenies(croissant wrapped mini hot dogs), ghost-shaped cookies, and some brain dip(any type of dip; buffalo chicken, 7 layers, etc.) If you are 21 or older you can even spice it up with some Halloween-inspired cocktails! There are tons of recipes you can get on Pinterest or a simple Google search. Bring some board games, or create your own spooktacular games to keep entertained.
2. Have a Halloween photoshoot
You and your friends can plan a themed photoshoot. All you need to do is think of the theme (horror, witches, pumpkins, fall colors) and put together a couple of outfits. You don't need fancy technology or expensive costumes, it's more about enjoying the festivities with your friends and making memories.
1. Visit a Haunted House
There are two approaches to this, you can visit one of those fake haunted houses where the people are paid to scare the POOP right out of you (these personally are not my fave, but you do get some good laughs out of them.) Or you can do some research on your local area and find some real haunted houses that have a lot of history behind them. I find that the unknown of what lurks in these abandoned haunted houses holds a lot of fear.
